OTTO Meets Strict Cybersecurity Requirements

OTTO Engineering Achieves Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2

OTTO Engineering has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 compliance. The achievement, earned following a third-party assessment of OTTO’s cybersecurity practices and systems, reflects OTTO’s ongoing commitment to protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other highly sensitive or confidential information.

“As a trusted supplier to the defense and aerospace industries, OTTO is serious about safeguarding sensitive information that is critical to supporting national security and mission success,” says Dan Stanek, President of OTTO Engineering. “OTTO’s CMMC Level 2 compliance aligns with our dedication to delivering high-reliability controls and communications solutions that customers count on in all industries we serve.”

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) developed the CMMC program to protect the defense industrial base from cyber attacks. The CMMC Framework combines various cybersecurity standards and best practices to safeguard sensitive information, enhance DIB cybersecurity to meet evolving threats, ensure accountability and contribute to a culture of cybersecurity and cyber resilience.

CMMC compliance reinforces OTTO’s ability to safeguard military technologies and data governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which is a key component of U.S. national security and foreign affairs. Compliance also complements OTTO’s AS9100-ceritified Quality Management System, vertically integrated U.S. manufacturing and A2LA-accredited testing laboratory. This further strengthens the company’s support for defense programs and applications that require secure, reliable and compliant manufacturing partners.

Status of CMMC Program
According to industry estimates, less than 3% of the DoD contractors required to meet CMMC Level 2 compliance have achieved that level, which was to take effect in November 2026. The U.S. defense industry base includes about 80,000 prime contractors and sub-contractors.

OTTO’s CMMC Level 2 compliance—achieved through a rigorous third-party assessment that is considered the gold standard in the industry—speaks to how seriously OTTO takes cybersecurity. Although the DoD has delayed the CMMC Level 2 rollout pending a review of the program, OTTO has demonstrated its commitment to meeting high standards for customers now and in the future.
